Oh boy the guys are back and they're in the same place for the first time in 7-8 months. Cougar baseball is coming off a huge 4-2 week against SHSU/Wichita St and have an even tougher one to come, both of which are discussed in detail. The Cougar women's golf team also won their 2nd AAC title in the 4 years of program history!
The Pawdcast returns this week with only the Sam-half of the guys, as Dustin deals with his move and because he doesn't love our listeners nearly as much (this is not fact-checked). There's Cougar Baseball to talk about and unfortunately that means addressing a tough late collapse and series loss at Tulane after a midweek victory over Rice.
The Track & Field team had some newer faces step in the Texas Invitational for men's/women's top 5 finishes, which Sam breaks down in-depth.
It's hard to follow up a 2-episode week like the last one, but the guys are raring to go and talk about the Cougar football red/white game and post spring practice story lines. Plus the guys talk about (in order):
- Becoming a "Jumpman" school and what that means for an already surging Hoops program.
- Baseball getting a HUGE series win over USF and week of must-wins vs scuffling Rice and Tulane teams.
- Track & Field competes at the Houston Alumni Invitational and we take a look at their projected season finish.
- Softball, Tennis AND Men's/Women's Golf Updates!
We return to talk with Brenda Tracy- RN and rape survivor, about her story, Set the Expectation and what all of us can do to combat the crime against humanity that is sexual assault. The three of us also discuss Tracy's recent visit to talk to UH Football, thoughts on the Cougars' controversial new assistant coaches and what the future holds for Tracy/Set the Expectation.
In the most ambitious week of content, perhaps in Pawdcast history, we kick it off by talking with Olympic gold medalist and Houston Cougar Track & Field Head Coach Leroy Burrell. The 3 of us discuss the current T&F season, what went into building this team and much, much more. Also, on the subject we talk about yet another incredible performance by the Coogs in the Outdoor T&F season- this time at the Texas Relays.
