Its officially the off season of Cougar sports, but you wouldn't be able to tell by all the content we have this week.
Cougar track alums Obi Igbokwe and Kahmari Montgomery join us to talk about their UH careers, future plans and much more!
For the first time in the Pawdcast's history we discuss the departure of a conference member, specifically UConn leaving to join the Big East, version 2.0. To understand the move better we brought on longtime Pawdcast friend Aman Kidwai of TheUConnBlog.com to get a UConn perspective. We also discuss the AAC's future, potential additions and our specific thoughts on what's next for the Coogs' current conference.
Two recent Cougar basketball greats: Corey Davis and Armoni Brooks, were signed as undrafted free agents to play with the Washington Wizards' summer league team and we talk about it.
Last but not least, we talk some Cougar baseball and track & field alums and specifically what they're up to lately.

We got his (somewhat surprising) pick for MVP of the athletics department, his take on the emerging pseudo-scandal around UH soccer, and much more.
We also took a look at Cougar football's latest recruiting efforts, and see who has committed to Houston, as well as where the Coogs stack up with their AAC brethren.
And we also announced the winners of the 3rd annual Pawscar Awards! With help from the vote of you, the fans at home, we celebrated the very best of the year that was.

It's our very first episode of the off-season, with the 2018-19 Cougar athletics year finally behind us, but make no mistake, this was a jam-packed episode. Cougar Track & Field competed at Outdoor National Championships, highlighted by a 3rd-place team finish, and Kahmari Montgomery winning the natty in the 400M.
Plus the MLB draft saw Jared Triolo taken 72nd overall, with 5 total Coogs hearing their names called.
And we announced the nominations for the 3rd annual Pawscar Awards, recognizing the best from the 2018-19 year that was. You can vote for the winners of the Pawscar Awards here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe3v_oXOh-_B-mRL1YeQPrB3LoNraOzmvNWJngsn8ZyqgPlig/viewform

We also talked some big picture program stuff, and got his thoughts on how track and field needs to evolve in the future.
PLUS Armoni Brooks is staying in the NBA draft. We cover all the implications for next year's team, and even look at a former Longhorn who might take his place.
NOT TO MENTION football added 3 transfers this week, all 3 of whom are likely to see the field. We took a look at how much work this staff has put in plugging holes on the 2019 roster.
AND AS A CHERRY ON TOP, we recorded the last half of the episode on a brand new recording system, thanks to our badass Patreon supporters, to whom we are eternally grateful.
