Welcome to the third era of Houston Cougar men's basketball greatness. Kelvin Sampson's junkyard dogs have punched a ticket to the 6th Final Four in program history, holding off Oregon State to set up a Lone Star State Showdown with the Baylor Bears. We're doing our best to dole out credit to the many, many people who deserve it, while also discussing the sustainability of the program's success, and of course, break down the win over the Beavers, and the matchup with the Bears.
HOUSTON COUGAR MEN'S BASKETBALL IS PLAYING ELITE EIGHT BASKETBALL!?!?! We're only somewhat sure we can feel our faces, and we talk about:
- How the Cougar's solved civilization's greatest shooter, Buddy Boeheim and the Syracuse Orange zone
- Who are the Oregon State Beavers and how do the Cougars match up with this new foe.
We have some promising Cougar programs finishing up their seasons, the women's basketball team in the NIT, and the swimming & diving team scoring points at NCAA Championships. We're talking big accomplishments, and looking forward to more to come.
The Houston Cougar men's basketball program has found itself in the Sweet 16 for the 2nd time in a row, thanks to no shortage of dramatics in a come from behind Round of 32 win vs Rutgers and a less dramatic opening round win over Cleveland State.
The guys react to ALL of that and look at the challenge presented by the Syracuse Orange in the Sweet 16.
