We imagine you're here, either to comiserate about yet another frustrating Houston Cougar football loss (this week to the Tulane Green Wave) or in perhaps a few cases, delight in the program favored to be this year's G5 darling continuing to go off the rails.

Whatever your underlying reasons: we talked about the general and specific takeaways from Friday night's ESPN-televised loss, which provided the same general questions and no satisfactory answers to what ails the Coogs on the gridiron.

We're back, with a football conference opener to discuss and no shortage of other Houston Cougar topics on the menu for this particular pawdcast:

  • The no good, terrible news of Derek Parish's 2022 season ending, 4 games in
  • Volleyball's continued strong start to conference play, with a couple of need-to-win roadies on the immediate horizon
  • Soccer has another fruitless roadie, short on offensive chances and looks ahead to another tough one
  • Women's Golf gets a record-setting performance from Natalie Saint Germain and good rounds from fellow frosh at OU
  • Top 100 big man Jacob McFarland commits to Cougar men's basketball

Oh yeah and we found time for Houston vs Tulane and week 5 CFB thoughts

We're back, and thank goodness we're talking about a Cougar victory over the Rice Owls, to extend the longest winning streak in Bayou Bucket history to 7 games. And yes, we did talk about some of the things we liked from Houston's 34-27 win. But we also didn't dance around some of the larger issues surrounding the football program. Basically, if you just won a rivalry game, and everybody from the head coach to the players to the fans seems to be frustrated, you might have some issues! So let's dig into those!

After giving the Rice game a thorough post mortem, including your #FourWordReviews, we also gave our thoughts on what was a wild, noteworthy week 4 of the college football season.
