It may be mid June and by any definition, the dog days of summer, but the boys are still back to talk everything current in the world of Houston Cougar sports, including the following topics:

  • Reacting to UH's newest head coach: Chrissy Schoonmaker, previously of George Washington. What we like (the pitching track record & not being Kristin Vesely) and still are unsure about with this hiring process (lots)
  • Previewing Cougar track & field's entrants at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field championship
  • A quick look at a group of new assistant coaching hires from the baseball, soccer, and tennis programs
  • At the end the boys treat themselves to a little general sports talk during this lighter month of college sports
Jun 4, 2025

The boys are back (echoing) the boys are back, and on this pawd where the month turns to June on the calendar, there are still Cougar sports topics to kick around and the regular co-hosts talked the following topics:

  • UH's unsurprising, but not wildly encouraging decision to bring back baseball HC Todd Whitting for a 16th season in 2026
  • What the lack of an update on the softball head coach tells us about who UH might be hiring
  • Track & Field sends several athletes and a relay to NCAA Outdoors, with some heartbreaking near misses and one injury absence
  • Kicking around some interesting Coog-related questions from our followers on the slime infested waters of social media... a summer tradition of sorts around here
May 28, 2025

The boys are back and its that, the most welcome of Houston Cougar offseason topics, an episode with a ton of good men's hoops offseason news which is included in a number of different Cougar sports topics covered in this episode, as follows:

  • Milos Uzan officially returns to the men's basketball program! What Uzan's return means for the 2025-26 season & Pop Isaacs' corresponding de-commitment from the program
  • Kelvin Sampson's extension becomes official
  • Appropriately honoring Antoine Jean's incredible 2025 baseball season & the team's season ends at the Big 12 tournament
  • Looking ahead to Cougar athletes competing at the NCAA Track & Field West Prelims
May 21, 2025

Just because the boys have reached the end of Houston Cougar regular season sports for the 2024-25 season doesn't mean there isn't a ton to talk about from sports in and out of their respective seasons, as Bobby & Sam kick around the following topics:

  • A really encouraging 'ahead of schedule' performance from Track & Field (primarily, but not exclusively the men's team) at the BIg 12 Outdoor Championships
  • Recapping the final regular season baseball series vs Arizona & looking ahead to a die or die week in Arlington (are there any other kind) at the Big 12 Baseball Championship
  • The FINAL 24-25 Cougar Golf Corner, talking Moa Svedenskiold's NCAA Championship appearance & the latest commitment to the women's golf program
  • Tennis has its first offseason roster movement with 2 interesting transfers commiting in the past couple of weeks
  • Eddie Nuñez drops some interesting men's basketball news items
  • A teaser of the otherwise Patron-exclusive '2025 Coog Vibe Check, Part 2' episode that's dropping this current week
May 15, 2025

We're partying like its an early season Pawd episode, because both co-hosts are in person in Vegas with the following Houston Cougar topics on offer:

  • Bobby gets the chance to weigh in on UH moving on from Kristin Vesely, bigger picture thoughts on everything uncovered in the past 12 months, and talking specific candidates for UH's newest vacancy
  • Baseball clinches (maybe?) at least a trip to the Big 12 postseason
  • Another Golf Corner featuring the Coogs in an NCAA Regional
  • Previewing the Coogs at the Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field championships
  • SNEAK PREVIEW of our premium "Cougar Athletics Vibe Check, Pt 1" pawd
May 14, 2025

The original co-hosting duo returns to discuss UH letting go of longtime softball head coach Kristin Vesely, including returning to reporting last summer of a toxic environment in the Cougar softball program, things the co-hosts have learned in the time since, and what UH did right (very little) and didn't do right (lots) institutionally in reaching today's outcome and what the program should look for in its next leader.

May 7, 2025

The boys are back, as the lazy days of May certainly don't equate to the lazy Pawdcast co-hosts of May as there are a number of Houston Cougar sports topics to discuss on this show:
