The boys are back here in the mid-July 'dead zone' of the college football season to talk about the following:
The gruesome twosome, the bad boys of millennial sports podcasting, founders and co-hosts of the internet's longest running Houston Cougar pawdcast are back! And it was a surprisingly busy last 2 weeks or so as Dustin & Sam talked the following topics:
Houston Cougar head baseball coach Todd Whitting joined the Pawdcast for a state of the program, looking back at the most recent season, how the Big 12 will change things for the program and how this can return to being a regular postseason team.
We're continuing with the Summer Pawd Talks 2023 edition, where we talk with new friend of the show Adam Eaton from our Ten12 Network friends at the Sons of UCF and longtime friend of the show Collin Sherwin (college sports editor at DK Nation), who's one of the Internet's absolutely most knowledgeable USF partisans.
The summer pawd series is back in tooown again and this time our guest of honor is Jeremy Phoenix, of the West Virginia Mountaineers (and fellow Ten12 Network pod) Raspy Voice Kids! We talked about a variety of topics, including but not limited to:
Time for a little something different! To kick off our offseason/summer series, where we get to know the Big 12 conference and its new programs, as well as checking in with some old favorites from the American, we had on Shehan Jeyarajah of CBS Sports to talk Big 12 football and Baylor and Clip Brock of Pirate Radio 1250 to talk ECU.
The boys are back *thin lizzy whisper* (the boys are back), with a quite eventful mid-June pawd as UH may now be officially done with the 2022-23 athletics year, but the news certainly hasn't stopped including these topics:
The boys are back and this specific case the boys can include Dana Holgorsen, the head coach of Houston Cougar football team joined the Scott & Holman Pawdcast to talk a variety of topics past, present and future!
Sam and (plot twist) special guest co-host/friend of the show Bobby talk a variety of timely Houston Cougar topics from the past couple weeks that were, including the following:
The guys have returned for a week that truly was about as jam packed as one could ask for in mid-May in terms of Houston Cougar news of the in season and offseason variety, including these topics:
The guys return (and battle some audio gremlins) to talk about an absolutely JAM PACKED episode of Houston Cougar spring sports content, including but not limited to:
The big Houston Cougar news of the week comes fast & furious for 1/2 the usual compliment of hosts, with some brief thoughts at the top of the show about some terrible & unavoidable things that don't involve the Cougars. The news isn't all positive, but its not all negative and contains the following:
The boys are back with a vintage, jampacked with Houston Cougar topics galore in an episode filled with in-season and offseason items that included the following:
The boys are BACK like Thin Lizzy prophesied, talking a really positive Houston Cougar sports week for: 2 men's hoops portal additions (in the form of Damian Dunn & LJ Cryer), a long-overdue update on track & field's Outdoor season to date and looking at the top performers/performances of '23 Outdoor, PLUS a mostly positive vibes bat & ball sports update as the softball & baseball programs have combined for a 9-3 start in conference play... and the TRIUMPHANT RETURN of the Patron Question of the Week. Its all here!
Well, there's some good news, and there's some bad news. On the plus side, Cougar baseball had its best weekend performance in years, beating #8 East Carolina 2 out of 3 to open conference play. In less fun news, Tramon Mark entered himself into the NBA draft and the transfer portal. We're dissecting it all, and what it means for the future of Cougar baseball and men's basketball.
The guys return to a Houston Cougar men's basketball season that has ended a little earlier than Coog partisans like Dustin and Sam would've hoped for. Covered topics tonight, hoops and otherwise, include:
Dustin and Sam returned after a wild opening week for the Houston Cougar men's basketball program, that thankfully was not wild for upset-related reasons and we talk about a spirited Northern Kentucky upset bid, Marcus Sasser injury scares and subsequent triumphs, plus a Tramon Mark performance worthy of a lifetime of UH lore in a tale of 2 halves win over Auburn. ALSO, previewing a Sweet 16 showdown with a chaotic, difficult and guard-heavy Miami Hurricanes program and what could await the Coogs in the Elite 8 if they can get past the 'Canes.
PLUS, the guys do show/tell and each bring a non-men's basketball Cougar sports team to talk about to tonight's pawd.
It's that time of year, ladies and gents. Time for Cinderella's and busted brackets, and champions cutting down nets. Your hosts are back with a Selection Sunday quick react, giving their thoughts on the newly-released bracket, which sees Houston claiming a #1 seed for just the second time in school history. We're bringing you our thoughts on Houston's opening-round matchup with Northern Kentucky, a potential second-round matchup with Iowa or Auburn, and some overall thoughts on Houston's entire region of 16, which including some very spicy possible matchups down the line.
The boys are BACK for an almost entirely Houston Cougar hoops episode, both the 2-0 week from men's hoops which ended with Jamal Shead snatching the joy from 18,000 Memphis fans at the buzzer in FedEx Forum as part of a 2-0 week to end the '23 regular season as the #1 team in the land AND looking at the upcoming trip by both the men and women hoopers to Fort Worth for one, last American championship at Dickey's Arena.
We're BACK and in this case, we is specifically the 'royal we' as Dustin had a conflict with recording and his appointment to go be a man of culture and the arts, thus only Sam will join you for this episode to talk about these fine Houston Cougar topics:
In this episode, Sam & Dustin return to discuss one of the busiest weeks of the year in Houston Cougar sports- which includes: a 7th straight swim & dive championship, a 3-0 statement men's hoops week against some familiar AAC foes in the past week, a frustrating missed opportunity kind of week for the women hoopers, a football coaching staff move, some early season bat & ball sports talk and more!
