Our first official off-season episode was supposed to be a relatively short one, in which we revisit our bold predictions for Cougar athletics from a year ago, and announce our nominees for the 2020-21 Pawscar Awards, but we ended up having lots of actual UH news to talk about, as well. To wit,
-Quentin Grimes showing off at the NBA combine
-Another big add to the Cougar men's hoops non-conference schedule
-Austin Reily winning the prestigious Texas Amateur
-Baseball adds a hitting coach, loses some transfers, and sees alum Connor Wong make his MLB debut

The boys are back in (their separate, respective) town(s) to discuss the last episode of Season 6 with on field UH results to talk about. Naturally, UH track & field and their performance in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field championship was the first topic, but the following also came up:
Were we content to just do a preview of UH track & field at the NCAA Outdoor championships and call that enough? HECK NO!
Instead, we brought on the always entertaining Cougar legend and current assistant coach Carl Lewis to talk about NCAA West Prelims and look ahead to the Cougar men's and women's athletes going to Eugene, OR to participate in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

First, the Cougar Track & Field program finished up West Prelims and is sending a bus-full of athletes on both the men's and women's side to Outdoor National Championships. We've got your Prelims recap, Natty's preview, and gushing about how bright the future of the program is on both the men's and women's side.
Plus, Cougar swimming and diving has a new head coach in Tanica Jamison! We're talking why the hire makes so much sense on paper, and why Jamison is inheriting unprecented expectations.
Not to mention, Karen Fredgaard earned the highest finish at National Championships in Houston Cougar women's golf program history, while also picking up the program's first all-American nod!
And finally, we talked about the Cougar baseball program ending its season at AAC championships, and had a long-avoided conversation about just how poorly this year went, and just how dire the need for changes in the program is.

Oh, and Ryan Wochomurka is leaving Houston, which is a huge bummer, but we did talk about what a huge positive he has been to the Cougar swimming and diving program, and the good place he left it.
